Most Indians just love paneer dishes, especially veg lovers. Paneer or cottage cheese is said to be chicken for veg lovers. Just kidding! Paneer is healthy and rich in protein. Here is a recipe for paneer do pyaza. Paneer do pyaza is delicious spicy paneer cooked in finger-licking masala and onions.Want to make one? Below is a recipe.

Let’s Start making Paneer Do Pyaza

Step 1: Heat 2 tbsp. oil in a deep non-stick pan.

Step 2: (आधा करना) Halve 2 onions and again cut it into halves to open out the layers.

Step 3:  In another non-stick pan, heat 2 tablespoon oil and add onions layers to it.

Step 4: In a deep pan, add 1 tablespoon cumin seeds, 5 crushed Green cardamoms and 2 sliced onions. (तलें) Sauté it until onion turns golden.

Step 5: Cut paneer into 2-inch cubes. (Sauté and flip the onion layers till golden and switch off the heat. then add 1 tablespoon Ginger and 1 tablespoon Garlic paste to the deep pan and onions, Sauté it for a minute. Add 2 tablespoon water and mix well.

Step 6:  Add ¼ cup tomato puree and 2 medium chopped tomatoes and mix to the deep pan, add ½ tablespoon turmeric powder, 2 tablespoon coriander powder, 1 tablespoon kasuri methi, 1 tablespoon cumin powder and 1 tablespoon red chilli powder. Keep stirring it till oil separates.

Step 7: Add paneer cubes and mix them well with the masala, add ¼ cup fresh cream and mix well, add Salt as per taste, add 1 Tablespoon Garam masala powder, browned onion layers and ½ cup fried onions to paneer. Cover the lid and cook it for 2 minutes.

Step 8: Add 1 Inch (कसा हुआ) grated Ginger and chopped ¼ cup coriander leaves. Mix everything together lightly.Your Paneer Do Pyaza is Ready to Serve.This dish can be eaten with naan, tandoori,

What you need to make Paneer Do Pyaza

  1. 500 grams Paneer
  2. 4 medium Onions
  3. 4 tbsp. Oil
  4. 1 tbsp. Cumin seeds
  5. 5 crushed green cardamoms
  6. 1 tbsp. garlic paste
  7. 1 tbsp. ginger paste
  8. 2 medium chopped tomatoes
  9. ¼ cup tomato puree
  10. ½ tbsp. turmeric powder
  11. 2 tbsp. coriander powder
  12. 1 tbsp. red chilli powder
  13. 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
  14. ¼ cup fresh cream
  15. Salt to taste
  16. 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  17. ½ cup fried onions
  18. ¼ cup fresh coriander leaves chopped
  19. 1 inch grated ginger (कसा हुआ)

Variations and tips:

  • Adjust the amount of red chilly and green chilli to make it spicy accordingly.
  • You can add a little sugar to the dish to balance the sour taste of tomato.

Paneer do pyaza is one of the simplest panner recipes and you can serve it for lunch or dinner too. Just with few preparation, your dish is ready to serve with kulcha, butter kulcha, masala papad or any Indian bread you want.
