Lachha Paratha Recipe

Everyone loves to eat the most popular flatbread, which is named Lacha Paratha.  This Indian flat bread is flaky with several layers.  This recipe is crisp on the outside and includes soft interiors.

Ingredients for lachha paratha

When you decide to try lacha paratha, you need to learn about the preparation procedures and ingredients required for making this flatbread. The following guide comes with all significant details regarding the ingredients.

  • wheat flour 2 cups (whole wheat)
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Salt (required amount)
  • Whole wheat flour for sprinkling and rolling
  • ghee for even brushing Seven tsp.
  • ghee for cooking Seven tsp.

Process of making lachha paratha 

Step 1

Once you gather all the required ingredients in your kitchen, you can start to prepare lacha paratha. Here are simple Paratha preparation procedures as follow:

Take a big bowl to evenly mix wheat flour, salt and 2 tbsp of ghee. You can mix it well by using lukewarm water to make the mixer softer

Step 3

Divide the soft dough into seven similar portions. After that, roll every dough portion into approximately 200 mm of diameter circle by using what flour for easy rolling you can spread ghee over it.

Step 4

Additionally, you can sprinkle some wheat flour over it as well as spread it smoothly.

Step 5

Fold from any end to other for making pleats similar to a fan, when pressing it in between you can do it once again from starting end to another end for forming the swiss roll. Now tightly seal its open end at the base in centre

Step 6

Turn over the Swiss roll consequently the covered side, faces upwards and again roll them into 150 mm of diameter circle by using the wheat flour.

Step 7

Heat the non-stick tava and cook every paratha by using one tsp ghee. Cook the until the golden brown color spots made on the two sides

Step 8

Take parathas on a flat plate and press the gently from the portions towards the heart for making the layers visible in paratha. Repeat the steps from three to ten for making six remaining parathas. Finally, you can serve them with your favorite side dish.

It is important to note that this Lachha paratha will taste good if you eat it with dal and sabzis.There is no other recipe can beat the flavor and aroma of homemade hot lacha paratha so that you can try it immediately.

The layered bread does not only look attractive but also more interesting for biting it as well because the layers of this dish separated by pure ghee. It also brings the melt-in-the-mouth and crumbly texture.

Note: The secret of preparing this recipe lies entirely in rolling paratha the proper way. Though it will initially appear complicated, it turns into simple once you make more than two Lachha paratha.
