POTATO FINGER’s RECIPE
There are several snacks and finger foods with Potatoes as main or one of the Key ingredient. It can be either Cutlet, Chips or even kebab’s, each one has its own uniqueness.
Generally the concept of FINGER FOOD was introduced by western world which means food consumed with direct hands. A lip-smacking finger food prepared mainly from boiled potatoes, semolina & yoghurt. Furthermore some easy tips and variations for the crispy potato fingers recipe.
Firstly, the potatoes can either be pressure cooked in a cooker or boiled in an open vessel as per your preference. But once cooked remove them immediately and do not keep those potatoes to absorb moisture. Secondly, i have used upma rava or medium rava but you can also use fine or thick rava if you do not have access to medium one. Alternatively, you can also use bread crumbs or even crushed oats in place of semolina. Lastly, these fingers can also be pan fried or shallow fried or even baked if you have oil concerns. I personally the deep frying option but not a mandatory option.

INGREDIENTS for POTATO FINGERS RECIPE
- Half Cup Rava / Semolina / Roasted Suji
- ¼th Cup Curd / Yoghurt
- 2 Potatoes – Boiled and Mashed
- Finely chopped 2 Green Chillies
- Ginger Paste ½ Tsp
- Chat Masala ½ Tsp
- Jeera Powder ½ Tsp
- Crushed Pepper ½ Tsp
- ½ Tsp Salt
- ¼th Cup Corn flour
- Oil for deep frying
How to Make Potato fingers Step by Step Process
Firstly, in large mixing bowl take half cup of roasted rava
Add ¼th Cup curd and mix well.
Allow rava to soak for 15 – 20 minutes
Now add 2 boiled and mashed potatoes
Also add 2 chillies, ginger paste, chat masala, jeera powder, pepper and salt. Combine well to form a dough
Now take a small ball sized dough making sure to grease your hand with oil to prevent sticking in hands.
Make a cylindrical shape to form a finger length. Roll in corn flour to get extra crispiness
Deep fry in hot oil or bake at 180° for 20 mins. Stir occasionally keeping the flame on medium
Fry till the potato fingers turns crispy and golden brown.
Crispy potato fingers are ready to enjoy.
Tips for Crispy Potato Fingers
- Firstly, use roasted rava to prevent from stickiness.
- If the potato fingers breaks in oil make sure to add a Tbsp of bread crumbs to the dough to absorb the excess moisture.
- Additionally if you do not want to use curd then boil half cup rava in half cup hot water.
- Finally, potato fingers tastes great when served hot.
